Goodrich / Hubbard family papers 1850-1865 [microform].

The collection consists of family papers of the Hubbard and Goodrich families of Augusta, Georgia from 1850-1865. The papers contain a diary kept by Henry G. Hubbard discussing his trip by wagon from Iowa to California from March 25 - July 19, 1850. Materials relating to Charles M. Goodrich's service in the 1st Georgia Infantry Regiment in Virginia include two letters (1861) to his brother, Jasper H. Goodrich, which discuss camp conditions; one letter (1862) from his commanding officer, Horton B, Adams, to Goodrich's father informing him of his son's illness; a pass for his mother to travel though enemy lines; and a diary that Goodrich kept from ca. January - March 1861. The collection also contains a letter from Henry C. Goodrich relating to a patent for camp cots; a memoriam from the Vigilante Fire Engine and Hose Company (Augusta, Ga.) for Henry C. Goodrich dated September 1, 1862; and an oath of allegiance (1865) for Amelia Jenny Goodrich.
